About Hanafi Machirus

Hanafi has been performing music on a regular basis since completing his CPIT Bachelor of Music in Jazz in 1994. He has worked professionally as an itinerant guitar teacher since completing his Diploma In Teaching in 1995.

Hanafi was guitarist in the Garden City Big Band from 1998-2001, and has worked in a diverse range of settings, some of which include: tango group ‘La Luna’, maori/celtic group ‘Emeralds and Greenstone’, Christchurch Smooth Jazz group ‘Frictionless’, Jazz/reggae/funk group ‘Wranglin’ and ‘Sophisticated Lady’ jazz duo with Nanako Sato.
